Orton and Nordika have signed a long-term lease agreement to build a new hospital in central Helsinki. Orton’s new hospital will be located at Tietokuja 2, a property owned by Nordika and formerly known as IBM's headquarters

The property is currently being transformed by Nordika into one of Finland’s most prominent social infrastructure buildings, which will bring together high-quality health care, senior living and wellness services. In addition to Orton, the property will house a large nursing home, a veterinary clinic, and a premium gym.

Orton has leased approximately 7,000 square meters of space, with initial occupancy planned for 2027.

“It was important for us to find facilities that meet our high standards for providing advanced specialized healthcare services and allow us to develop high-quality care into the future. Moving Orton from its original location in Ruskeasuo to a new address was a major decision. We are pleased that our long history will continue in Munkkiniemi, where we will serve our customers in facilities designed for them in a prime location,” says Markus Orava, CEO of Orton.

The cooperation between Nordika and Orton has been successful, with both parties committed to creating high-quality facilities for healthcare services. “The collaboration with Nordika has been very smooth, and it has been a pleasure working with such a flexible and cooperative partner. We look forward to our new facilities and future cooperation,” Orava adds.

Orton is a private specialty hospital offering orthopedic, pain management, and rehabilitation services, as well as access to certain services from HUS, the Helsinki University Hospital. Orton has long operated in Ruskeasuo, Helsinki, as well as in various HUS hospitals in the Helsinki metropolitan area.

Nordika is a Nordic real estate investment company, focusing on transformations of outdated assets and active management to improve and create long term sustainable assets. The development of the Tietokuja 2 premises in Helsinki is fully aligned with Nordika’s strategy to offer versatile real estate solutions that benefit society.
